The Bo Dudley’s
It was Saturday 18th September and the Bo Dudley’s, had been booked for the evening entertainment.
For those of you who weren’t there. WHERE WERE YOU?!?!. You missed a real corker of an evening. If you ever see the band advertised in your area then it is a must to go and see them. Honestly you won’t be disappointed.
The Bo Dudley’s are a five piece band from the Black Country who knock out high energy rock and roll and ragtime boogie woogie. They are first class musicians in their own right but if you add into the mix the showman ship, superb vocals and the unique style of jokes from front man QB Slim, who is a born entertainer, you end up with pure genius.
The music covered a wide range of genre to meet everyone’s tastes. Tracks such as: Route 66, Mustang Sally, Cheverolet, Ain’t Goin Down, Tulane, Sabre Dance, I’m on Fire, and who could forget Baby Please Don’t Go! The list goes on and includes many more by artists such as Elvis, Fat’s Domino, Queen, Garth Brooks, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bruce Springsteen. All delivered by outstanding visual and musical performances.
These guys in my opinion didn’t put a foot wrong. With their own style of Rock n Roll and Boogie Woogie they were guaranteed to get you moving.
All in all a great evenings entertainment.
If you did miss The Bo Dudley’s at the Autumn Nationals then do not despair. They will be back. Yes that’s right they have been booked to perform at the Spring nationals on April 9th at Victoria Farm.
Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic evening. The field was buzzing on the Sunday, even people who hadn't been camping on the Saturday were talking about how good you were and how sorry they were to have missed you.You really put on a fantastic show. Can't wait to see you again!
With that in mind I would like to confirm our booking with you for next year.
Look forward to seeing you again and listening to more of your jokes!
Best wishes

You guys don't pay enough attention or respect to QB Slim especially his unique and fabulous Kazoo playing. The fact that he plays Kazoo at all is due only to a catastrophic accident with his saxophone that, when the photographs became available, generated a whole new passage (so to speak) of development for the giant Yamaha Corporation that resulted in their "Ready Lubricated" range of instruments. Given this background, QB Slim has somehow redefined the role of the kazoo whilst retaining his sense of humour and his ability to fart trumpet voluntary perfectly in time.
(Posted on 2010-08-27 10:41:00 by Dizzy Gillespie)
Mickey, we should call a truce. I am aware of Richard's magical singing since the time I was (secretly) at one of the Bo Duds gigs and I heard him singing the fabulous "Welcome Home" originally made famous by Peters and Lee although Richard really nails what I believe is THE definitive version.
(Posted on 2010-08-27 09:12:00 by Russ)
Proper songs mate none of that namby pamby stuff you write about ! Down at the Doctors, Cheque Book, Switchboard Susan and Chevrolet ,Standing at the Crossroads ( the last two songs covered by the fabulous Bo Dudleys ), you should really check them out Russ the Drummer sings so much better than your goodself if your youtube clips are anything to go by ........... p.s thank God The Crows knows how to make a les paul sound good ,any time you want him to give you a lesson in how to make it sound great i'm sure he'll help you out he seems a nice bloke

Okay, look mate, next gig I am coming (ooh missus) to buy a CD, a T-Shirt, a dozen Bo Dud Bangers, a bottle of Bo D'odeur, a Bo Dud baseball cap (surely you must have those?), and a Bo Dud trouser belt. I shall also be placing an order for the Bo Dud condoms (frankly, not too much demand for them in my line of work, but I am assuming that a picture of the Bo Duds is on each one and your face appearing and disappearing and appearing and disappearing could be an interesting shot for the cameraman).
My question is, given the massive discount that you apply to just the CD/T-Shirt combo, how much if I get it all (I usually do!) at the same time?
(Posted on 2010-08-24 10:03:00 by Ron Jeremy)
Haha! I know what you mean about wanting to freshen up after being in some smelly places ;-) I was working in Tipton yesterday! L'eau de Bo and a little bit of Snake Oil should do the trick Ron. You may be interested in another of our pending products, the Bo Dudleys condom - or Bo'phylactic. They glow in the dark and the insides are coated with liquid viagra so, just like the Bo's you can play all night (if the mrs goes to sleep you can pretend to be Darth Vader). They come in three different sizes - small, medium and Richard. I must warn you to be careful with them though. I made the mistake of putting one over my head and the viagra went in my eyes. I can't sleep but I look hard! I've also got a stiff neck. And a stiff upper lip.
(Posted on 2010-08-19 16:41:00 by qbslim)
Burger King would not be the first to ask me to make mine a Whopper. Dirty gits. I shall be looking for some Bo Dud bangers on Nov.5th (looking of course as I will not be able to hear them) and for your new range of smelly stuff. I am often in pretty smelly places and sometimes feel the need to freshen up a bit - your Bo Od'ure should be just the ticket.
(Posted on 2010-08-19 14:32:00 by Ron Jeremy)
I see the nub of your gist Ron (maybe you need a bigger thong...) and can only sympathise. Unfortunately demand for the CD exceeded our expectations (any more than three constitutes record sales TBH) and as such the combo offer was indeed unavailable. However, as we gig regularly I'm sure a return visit would ensure your satisfaction.
With regard to a Bo Dudleys thong, there are, as yet, no plans to put our faces on the crotches of relative strangers but other products are in the pipeline. By the end of October fans will be able to buy Bo Dudleys fireworks, known as Bo Duds and there will be a range of perfumes and aftershaves called Bo D Odour.
May I suggest you forsake visits to McDonalds in favour of visits to Burger King. At least you can ask them to make yours a Whopper.
(Posted on 2010-08-17 22:31:00 by qbslim)
But you have not answered the main thrust (so to speak) of my argument - when you are missing either a T-Shirt or a CD, prospective purchasers are penalised as they cannot take advantage of the combined price.
ps I would like to get a thong with the Bo Duds pictured on it - my size is obviously large, very large, in fact very very large, but you should make them available in a variety of sizes and colour
pps whenever I am in McDonalds, I am in danger of being arrested when the assistant says "Do you want to make it large"
(Posted on 2010-08-17 14:09:00 by Ron Jeremy)
Nice one Ron! The T-shirt/thong/medallion combo never goes out of style. By the way though, those weren't groupies in the dressing room Ron, it was a couple of old gals from the local WI who'd popped in looking for a small donation. I'm not sure your actions were entirely appropriate. I heard one of them had a stroke etc etc.
(Posted on 2010-08-16 18:44:00 by qbslim)
I was looking for a T-Shirt (big size of course) to wear with my thong and I would wear the CD around my neck like a medallion - unfortunately, without the combination price I would have been three pounds out of pocket.
CD = £5.00
T-Shirt = £8.00
Buy both? = £10.00
(Posted on 2010-08-16 13:12:00 by Ron Jeremy)
Dave - glad you enjoyed the show! Although we had sold the last CD that night we had T-Sirts for sale! Make sure you grab one of us for a chat (and a T-Shirt!) next time ;-)

Saw you at the Old Queens Head last Saturday - great night. Your guitarist was superb, especially during his show-off piece in Mojo. I was disappointed that I could not buy a T-Shirt or a CD. A very entertaining night.
